Maria's Journey

From Foster Care to Financial Independence

Maria's Journey to Independence

After aging out of the foster care system, Maria faced housing instability and limited job prospects. Through VOA Communities, she found not just a home, but a supportive community.

"VOA gave me more than a roof over my head. They gave me the tools and confidence to build the life I always dreamed of. Today, I have a stable job and I'm saving to buy my first car."

With our financial literacy program and career counseling, Maria secured a full-time position and is now mentoring other youth in our community.

James Finds His Path

James came to us with a dream of pursuing higher education but lacked the resources and support system to make it happen. Our educational support program changed everything.

"The tutoring and scholarship assistance I received through VOA made college possible for me. I'm now in my second year studying social work so I can help others like me."
